Designed for installation on suction or discharge side of pump on systems with flow rates of 25 gpm (1 in filter housings), 10 to 50 gpm (1-1/2 in filter housings) and 18 to 100 gpm systems (2 in filter housing) these spin down water filters provide an effective means for removing large volumes of sediment.
Spin down water filters are ideal for whole house filtration, agricultural and commercial/industrial applications.
Overall filtration costs are greatly reduced when used as a pre-filter in duplex filtration systems by preventing post filtration cartridges from plugging prematurely before their absorption ability is exhausted, maximizing the capacity/utilization of the carbon.
This dramatically increases the life span of taste and odor, granular carbon and other one micron cartridges.
- Spin out action creates centrifugal force which ensures that particulate is forced downward to the spin down water filter bowl protecting the filter element from abrasion
- For this reason, it is important that the proper size filter housing is used: upto 1 to 25 gpm use 1 in housing, 10 to 50 gpm use 1-1/2 in housing, 18 to 100 gpm use 2 in housing
- Oversizing the spin down water filter can lead to excessive wear or premature clogging of the filter element due to the lack of spin out action
- Molded heavy duty PVC filter body
- Clear poly carbonate filter bowl allows for visual inspection of flow and filter performance
- Each spin down water filter is shipped complete with a purge valve for the 1/2 in mpt drain clean out port providing an easy means to flush (clean) filtrates which are deposited on the outside of the filters screen without having to shut of the water supply
- All materials are non-corrosive and are ultraviolet stabilized/weather resistant
- Element can be cleaned with soft brush after the element has been soaked in 50/50 bleach and water solution to remove stains caused by iron, and many more rinse the element thoroughly
